The FA Basic Referee Course

The FA Referees Course is designed for anyone aged 14 and up who wants to join the tens of thousands of referees who operate week in week out on local parks, throughout the English football pyramid, up to those who officiate The FA Cup Final and on the International stage.

 As a referee you play an integral role in ensuring all participants enjoy their match day experience, helping create a competitive, fair, safe and enjoyable playing environment.

The course is usually ran over 2 days.

You will they need to referee 5 games. 

It's never too late! Anyone over the age of 14 can become a referee. The game doesn’t just need young referees, some players who are in the twilight of their football years have also enrolled on one of our referee qualification courses to continue their involvement in the game.

 The current cost to complete a Basic Referee Course with Shropshire FA is £130

- course includes all your training and resource materials, as well as some basic equipment, such as a whistle, etc
