FA Youth League Development

In 2010 The FA started to undertake a review of Youth Football in England. After more than 2 years of consultation with all people involved in the game, a number of recommendations were approved by The FA National Game Board and will be implemented from the 2012/13 season and onwards.

The attached booklet outlines the major changes that will affect in junior football over the coming seasons. TSome of the major changes include the following;

- Maximum format of 5v5 for under 8s and younger

- Rule changes for mini-soccer at under 8s and younger

- Implementation of 9v9 as a maximum format for under 11 and under 12 age groups

- Changes to the traditional football season and periods of competition for age groups up to and including the under 11 age group.

For full details on these changes please see the attached booklet. If you require further details on how these changes will impact on junior football in Shropshire, please contact Darren Beech, Darren.beech@shropshirefa.com  or 01743 362769
