Pathway For Refereeing Excellence
Purpose of this Group is to spot, nurture and support Referees which are showing high potential within refereeing and then for this to be the link for national core and that will create a steady stream of referees who are making their way into national core.
The core group is designed for Levels 7,6 & 5 Referees on the Promotion Pathway who show great potential and have the desire and behavior to succeed.
This is a very exciting opportunity for anyone within the group and they must show the correct attitude, professionalism, and an eagerness to learn and grow. The referees will be expected to attend 75% of meetings, if they fall under this amount their position will be reviewed.
The training will be focussed around the following areas;
Fitness
Nutrition
Developing leadership skills
Communication skills
Mental resilience
Teamwork
Ability to learn and apply LOTG within match situations
We look forward to receiving applications from Shropshire FA registered Referees over 16 years of age, who are either currently on the Promotion pathway or will be looking for season 2024/25. Successful applicants will need to currently Referee or have a desire to Referee in adult football.
Applications close on 31st August 2023, with applicants being contacted by 8th September 2023 and our first meeting 20th September 2023.
Please note season 2023/24 will be a small group in order to establish this offer, with a view to grow each season.
