IS YOUR TEAM FULLY COVERED TO PLAY FOOTBALL IN ShropSHIRE?
In 2012 The FA carried out a review of insurance across grassroots football which highlighted a lack of guidelines, and prompted the introduction of minimum standards across all Counties.
It is now mandatory for all Shropshire FA clubs to have Personal Accident & Public Liability insurance in place before completing the affiliation process. This can be purchased during the affiliation process, but MUST be in place before your affiliation is complete.
Shropshire FA use UK Global Group as their insurance provider who are also on hand to cover any Shropshire affiliated team.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
Personal Accident insurance protects players, committee members, managers, and trainers in the event of an accident arising from football activities.
Ahead of the 2017/18 season, the FA ruled to make personal accident insurance mandatory for all age groups and formats of football, including youth.
Personal accident insurance for Adult 11 a side football has been mandatory for a number of years now and has been extremely beneficial in providing protection and financial support to players at all grassroots levels.
Shropshire FA require all Adult teams to have a minimum amount of cover, there are 3 options which are:
- Option 1: £50.00 per week cover - Annual Cost £153.00
- Option 2: £75.00 per week cover - Annual Cost £252.00
- Option 3: £100.00 per week cover - Annual Cost £323.00
Shropshire FA also requires all Juniors teams to have a minimum amount of cover, they are per team:
- Under 12's & Below: £25.00
- Under 13's & Above: £31.00
- Futsal teams that participate in the Winter Futsal Programme £2.00
(Futsal insurance will need to be purchased in December)
This is to ensure that all Club Officials and Players receive sufficient support and financial assistance should it be needed.
These Insurance Policies purchased are mandatory minimum cover as defined by The FA. You may require additional personal accident cover. Please see benefits in related documents below.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCe
It is of vital importance that all organisations protect themselves against the disastrous consequences of liability for injury or damage arising out of their actions and this includes the actions of all officials, members and volunteers. Clubs should carry a limit of no less than £10,000,000.
Cover is arranged by the association as a group policy; allowing you to purchase the cover at a much cheaper premium, whilst benefiting from the wider cover of a policy that has been designed specifically with grassroots football in mind.
