There's never been a better time to get involved and play disability football.
Opportunities for players with a disability to access football at various levels have grown incredibly over the past few years. You may be an enthusiastic grass roots player who likes nothing more than a kick about with your friends and enjoys the social aspect of this participation. Others may have ambitions to develop as a player and to potentially to play for their country – the good news is that the systems are in place for you access football at the level that meets your needs and aspirations.
Shropshire FA support a number of FA Ability Counts Football club sessions. These clubs have shown a commitment to providing opportunities for disabled people to take part in coaching and In some cases competitive football competing in the FA 3 Counties Ability Counts League.
We run a number of footballing events over the year, one of which is our Shropshire FA Ability league, which happens once a month when the season is taking place with one centralised venue at Telford College. It’s 16+ PAN disability football format. We also run Shropshire FA Ability Futsal tournaments in the winter months, December and January In Telford Colleges state of the art football arena. We also host the Shropshire FA Ability Cup where teams can compete against each other. The winning teams are then given the chance to play in a footballing stadium.
Footballing In Education
We run and support a number of football coaching sessions in primary/secondary/college education, catering to all needs and ages. These are in a special school setting. We also provide open football training workshops for all organisations that have a disability club where we attend and provide coaching sessions for their club member. Organisations of which include MyFam project, Club 2000 Sports & Leisure have taken advantage of these sessions and have provided excellent feedback.
We work closely with mental health charities and organisations, helping their members gain access to football.
In association with Givesomeoneasportingchance we also hold a Christmas boot drive for deprived members of the community whereby football boots and kits get distributed and also food and drinks are available on Christmas morning. Beneficiaries of which are members of special schools who have made great use of the donations of kit.

We have a directory of all our disability clubs ranging from school age up to adults covering all areas of Shropshire so you can locate your nearest vicinity.
We have lots of new exciting opportunities to join our Disability workforce. We have lots of volunteer coaching opportunities in both children’s and adult football. We also have lots of new refereeing opportunities to referee in our league and cup. We also have the opportunity for new members to join the Shropshire FA football disability football committee.
