The purpose of the Youth Council is to inspire, empower and most importantly provide a voice for all children and young people to influence change and develop a lasting legacy in football for Shropshire.
The Shropshire FA Youth Council is a great opportunity to give young people the chance to have their voices heard and have a say in the way youth football is run and developed in Shropshire.
The YC hold their meetings bi-monthly. The SFA Youth Council have on-going projects throughout the year. They have developed an action plan and calendar of events (see documents below)

Kick it Out
The SFA Youth Council are developing a strategy to promote the Kick it Out campaign across youth footballers in Shropshire. The aim is to produce a product which will lower cases of racism in the game for many years to come.
Football Futures Leadership Day
The SFA Youth Council are all members of the Football Futures programme and are also keen to recruit many more members from across Shropshire. The Football Futures campaign rewards Young Leaders and more information can be found here. The Youth Council plan and deliver the Annual Football Futures Leadership Day which looks to help develop those already part of the scheme as well as recruiting new members.
Girls & Women:
Working with the SFA to increase participation in the girls and women’s game, in line with the National Girl’s and Women’s Football Strategy
Support the growth and awareness of Disability & Inclusion football across the County in conjunction with the Inclusion Advisory Group and the SFA
To support the SFA and grassroots Charter Standard clubs to deliver under 7’s mini soccer festivals
To investigate available funding systems for the SFAYC in order to support and deliver programmes
Marketing & Communications:
To enhance our marketing abilities in order to raise awareness of the SFAYC and network with Shropshire and the West Midlands.
