Walking Football

Shropshire FA Walking Football Festival

The Shropshire FA have teamed up with the FA and The Bobby Moore Fund to host a Walking Football Festival on Thursday 1st August 2019

The FA and the Bobby Moore Fund are joining forces to tackle bowel cancer. Between 27th July and 10th August County FA's will be hosting Walking Football across the county to improve knowledge of bowel cancer prevention and raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund.

Real progress has been made, with mortality rates falling by more than 30% since 1993. However, there is still plenty more to do. Every day, 44 people die from bowel cancer in the UK – that’s equivalent to four football teams and it remains the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK. With your support, we will continue to fund pioneering bowel cancer research.
CAUSE (Bobby Moore Fund)

Bobby Moore was just 51 when he died. The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE in his memory to fund pioneering bowel cancer research. Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer but we want to do more to do to beat this cancer sooner.
