FA Girls Football Week - SFA Euro Celebration Events

The FA Girls Football Week Campaign is running between 16th July and 6 August to coincide with England’s involvement in Euro 2017.

During FA Girls’ Football Week the whole country gears up to encourage football activities for girls which can including playing, training or even just learning more about the beautiful game.

 The week is a great opportunity to showcase female football at every level and inspire new players and volunteers.

As part of the National campaign, Shropshire FA will be running a number of events to help raise the profile of female football and support the FA’s aim of doubling the number of women and girls playing football and supporting more females to become coaches, referee’s and volunteering in the female game by 2020.

SFA Girls & Women’s Strategy Consultation Event

Female Only Refereeing  Forum

Monday 17th July, 6.30pm @ SFA HQ
Female referees will have the opportunity to share their views, and be provided with some CPD in the form of Match Scenarios and a practical demonstration on match control.

 

Female Only Coaches Workshop

Tuesday 1st August, 6pm - 9pm @AFC Telford Learning Centre
Coaching Girls teams & new ideas – No qualification required to attend.
This workshop is ideal for any female aged 16+ interested in getting involved in coaching girls teams, or are already with a team and want further coaching support are welcome to attend this workshop in a fun, friendly safe environment.

Join us and help shape our vision for supporting and inspiring more female coaches in the game.

 

SSE Wildcats Girls Football Festival

Friday 4th Aug, 6.30pm - 8pm at Shrewsbury Town in the Community Training Ground
Any girls aged 5-11 who are part of a SSE Wildcats club can attend along with anyone that might be interested in trying out football for the first time in this fun, friendly environment.

 

U8’s & U10’s Girls Euro Football Festival

In partnership with the Shropshire Girls & Women’s League & Prees Club
Saturday 5th Aug, 10am registration for 10.30am start @ Press Club.  (U8's 5v5, U10's 7v7.) 
Girls affiliated teams are invited to attend a Girls Euro Festival, with emphasis on fun, enjoyment in a friendly environment.

The Girls Football week will be an opportunity to support the Lionesses’ Euro campaign and get even more girls playing football this summer.

Please do not forget that you can also register your on-going activities as part of the week, or maybe even start something brand new to kick-start girls’ football.
