“At SSE we are extremely proud to be a fundamental part of supporting the grassroots game. This is a key reason for our sponsorship of the SSE Women’s FA Cup, not only are we focussed on achieving greater awareness of the sport at an elite level, equally as important we are creating more opportunities and relentlessly encouraging more girls to get involved in football.”
Roy Waterfield, Shropshire FA Chief Executive said: “The Shropshire FA share a common vision with the FA to increase the number of players in female football. Our successful bid to host three new Wildcats Girl’s Football clubs with two of our key partners in Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Telford is testament to our well established reputation of attracting new girls into football over the last 15 years. There has never been a better time for our young female Footballers to access high quality football activities in expertly coached and fun packed sessions. By attending these clubs, it is the first step on a talent pathway that may convert a Shropshire wildcat into a future England lioness one day!"
