Talent ID - CPD Event for Levels 1,2 and 3 Coaches

Ever wondered how the pathway for the likes of John Stones & Dele Alli has helped them to develop into International Footballers?

Well now is your chance to gain an insight into the research and most recent updates in the field of Talent ID and the role that grassroots football has in helping support players of the future.

Shropshire FA are pleased to announce that Nick Levett, FA Talent Identification Manager, will be sharing research and current updates in the field of Talent ID with a link to the grassroots game at our FA Licensed Coaches Club CPD Event on the evening of Tuesday 30th August 2016.

The evening will aim to challenge different perspectives and explore how this can affect decision making when analysing a player’s potential. Discussions will take place regarding case studies on players from International Squads, The FA's 4-Corner Model (in particular the importance of the psychological & social corner in player development) and identifying talent. Coaches will be advised on how they can relate this to their training sessions and how the different elements can be implemented within a grassroots club environment. This Coaching CPD event will also aim to dispel myths around early specialisation within a particular sport and the importance of looking at ‘biological’ age over chronological.

Being a player’s first opportunity to learn within a football environment, the grassroots game plays a pivotal role in developing talent and it is important that we create that great football experience to maximise an individual players potential.

Having been delivered up & down the country, this workshop has attracted the attention of a variety of individuals from across the football community who have attended from both the professional and grassroots game.

‘“It was fantastic to see such an excellent turnout for what was a very informative and entertaining CPD event last night with Nick. It was apparent that all who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves” (Michael Cornall – Coach after Talent ID workshop in Suffolk).

Nick has held many positions within The FA from National Youth Development Manager to heading up The FA Skills Programme. In addition, Nick played a key role in the implementation of The FA Youth Review in 2011.
