World Championship fever hits SGP

World Championship fever has hit St George’s Park with the arrival on Sunday of the England CP squad for their pre-tournament camp

As the facility prepares for the arrival of the 15 international teams on Saturday 13th June the squad have undertaken their first training session in glorious sunshine. Head Coach Keith Webb commented “it is great to finally arrive and have valuable preparation prior to our opening game against Japan. The players are looking sharp and we are just fine tuning the final touches. The next 15 days are a wonderful opportunity to showcase CP football and the England players and we will all be trying as hard as we can to improve our world ranking and qualify for Rio.”

 

England are currently ranked 10th in the world and have been drawn in a very competitive group with Ukraine (rank 1st) and Iran (rank 5th), they are also the nominated country for qualification to the Rio Paralympics.
