The Step into Sport Programme works through a county, regional and national programme where volunteers involved will be invited to take part in a number of workshops and training days to help develop their skills as a young leader and a coach.
County Level:
Volunteers within the county aged 14 - 18 are invited to a number of workshops throughout the year that lead to regional events. The workshops are targetted in developing young leaders with their coaching and developing their personal skills in working with other young people. The Step into Sport Programme is a great way for young volunteers and coaches in gaining support from the County FA in their future coaching career. Keen and skilled volunteers will find that the County FA will provide them with a high level of support within their coaching and the qualifications which they can look to achieve.
Regional Level:
When the Step in Sport Programme reaches regional level our young volunteers will be working with other volunteers around the region to help and support current Charter Standard Clubs. A number of workshops are provided regionally where all the countys in the region come together to provide the young volunteers with excellent coaching and experiences which they are then able to use in their own work.
National Level:
A small number of selected individuals are put forward to national camps. These camps are residential courses where our young leaders stay over for a week to develop their coaching skills and techniques. They are then able to use these new skills and techniques in their own coaching sessions. From this camp our young volunteers try to present themselves in the correct way to try and gain themselves a place on The FA's International Placement where 3 - 4 volunteers throughout the country are given the opportunity to coach in Africa throughout the summer.
