Inspired Facilities is a National Lottery investment fund and a key element of the Places People Play programme to deliver a mass participation sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through Inspired Facilities Sport England will invest in up to a thousand local community sports clubs. It is focused on making it easier for local community and volunteer groups to improve and refurbish sports clubs or transform non-sporting venues into modern, grassroots sport facilities.

They can also be more expensive to run and difficult to maintain.
Inspired Facilities is a unique opportunity for you to upgrade your sports facility or convert an existing building into a venue suitable for sport, and accessible to the whole community.
Sport England will invest in most types of improvement or refurbishment ranging from sports equipment to outdoor lighting as long as it will develop sport in your local area.
