Pre-requisites
It is required that candidates:
- be over 16 years of age
- have an interest in coaching the sport
- hold the FA Emergency Aid Certicate or equivalent/recognised First Aid Certificate
Prior to certification candidates must have evidence of having undergone awareness training in the protection of children from abuse. This should be evidenced via the certificated attendance of the FA workshop: Safeguarding Children.
Qualification Structure
The qualification is composed of three compulsory units of study:
Unit 1 - Football Coaching principles and ethics
Unit 2 - Plan football coaching sessions
Unit 3 - Conduct football coaching sessions
To qualify for the L2CCF you must successfully complete all three units.
Assessments
Assessment of the L2CCF is divided into two components:
- The internal assessment component is conducted along side your programme of training and includes an initial assessment of your delivery of three short coahcing sessions and the completion of a number of set tasks.
- The externally assessed component takes the form of a number of post course tasks and your delivery of two planned coaching seesions from the technical syllabus.
